Our Opportunities
THE UWRF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN
GENERAL TIMELINE
*Exceptions: Study Abroad, Graduate Counseling and School Psychology, and the Chancellor’s and Falcon Scholars have different application dates. Please review scholarship descriptions for deadlines – application deadlines are strict.
FALL/WINTER:
Applications are open
- New Transfer and Incoming Students starting in the fall 2027 – spring 2028 school year can begin applying for scholarships October 1, 2026.
- Currently Enrolled/Continuing Students can begin applying for scholarships November 15, 2026.
DEADLINES: Most scholarships have a deadline of February 1, however Study Abroad, Graduate Counseling and School Psychology, and the Chancellor’s and Falcon Scholars Scholarships have earlier deadlines. Please review scholarship descriptions for dates; application deadlines are strict.
WINTER/SPRING
Applications are reviewed and recipients are notified through their UWRF email. Recipients need to accept their scholarship through this portal and complete post-acceptance if required. Please see UWRF Scholarships – How do I accept a scholarship offer for more information. Recipients are expected to accept their award by the end of spring semester. Scholarships must be accepted and post-acceptance completed before the award can be added to financial aid/paid out to billing accounts.
SPRING/SUMMER
Scholarships are added to students’ financial aid information for the upcoming academic year.
FALL
Scholarships are paid to student billing accounts. Scholarships of $500 and less are applied to the fall semester only. The financial aid office begins applying aid to student billing accounts after the federal census date (sixth day of the semester). Students graduating in December should notify scholarships@uwrf.edu; the full amount of the scholarship may be applied to the fall term, depending on the award.
NOTES
- The Award column is an estimated award amount and not a guarantee of what you will receive if selected.
- When filling out the general application, your anticipated graduation date refers to your expected graduation from UWRF.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Students must be admitted to UWRF and enrolled at least half-time to receive a scholarship during the semester it is scheduled to apply to your bill.
- Currently enrolled UWRF students planning to graduate during the 2026-2027 academic year are ineligible to receive scholarships for the 2027-2028 academic year.
- Scholarship recipients are invited to and expected to attend an annual Scholarship Recognition Event hosted by University Advancement during fall semester in the year the scholarship is received. This serves as a meaningful opportunity to meet and thank the donor/s who fund scholarships to benefit UWRF students. Please watch your UWRF email for updates.
- Review Scholarship Requirements. Apply only if you are eligible.
- Complete the Application in Full. If a question does not apply, indicate as such.
- Review your Application. Along with proofing your own application, have someone else proofread for spelling and grammatical errors and provide feedback before you submit your application.
- Pay Attention to Deadlines. Don’t wait until the last minute to apply. Give yourself time to provide thoughtful and meaningful responses.
