John E. Butler International Research Scholarship

This scholarship supports a student who has been accepted into a semester or year-long study abroad program offered by UWRF.

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student
  • Priority will be given to students who:
    > Will engage in cultural immersion experiences, such as homestays, language study, or community-based learning (e.g., living with international students in a residence hall or off-campus apartment, experiential place-based learning, enrolling in classes with international
    students).
    > Plans to conduct significant research, scholarly, or creative projects abroad, either independently or as part of their academic program.
    > Demonstrated academic achievement and a clear purpose for studying abroad.
  • Financial need may be considered but is not required.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Please upload your proposal for a science-based research project to be completed abroad. The proposal must include the name and contact for the research facility where you will complete your research. Please indicate the number of weeks that you will be completing research – a minimum of 11 weeks is required. If you intend to present your research at a national research or discipline specific conference, please include that information as well. The proposal must be signed by your faculty advisor.
