Therese Lachecki Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports a graduate student pursuing an M.S.E. degree in School Counseling.

Student must have completed 1 semester of course-work as a student enrolled in the Counseling Program.

Must provide a brief personal essay which describes those opportunities the candidate has engaged in to broaden their educational experience and the impact that service to others has, such as:

  • Ideas surrounding the impact of service in your or others’ lives and how that might impact your work as a future school counselor.
  • Affiliation with a School Counseling Professional Organization like WSCA or MSCA
  • Participation in a recognized student organization at UW- River Falls like the UWRF School Counseling Student Organization
  • Other profession related non-academic experiences like group work at school, depression screening, graduate assistant-ships, etc.

    • Affiliation with a School Counseling Professional Organization like WSCA or MSCA.
    • Ideas surrounding the importance of professional collaboration (i.e. Counseling Program Stakeholder Group) and the responsibilities that graduates of the program have in taking lessons from the program and paying them forward (specific example).
    • Other profession related non-academic experiences like group work at school, depression screening, graduate assistantships, etc.
    • Participation in a recognized student organization at UW-River Falls like the UWRF School Counseling Student Organization.
